Cyndie's Story
Life
Cyndie has been working as an English teacher for about six years. Has spent a lot of time traveling (Japan, Poland, and Korea - among others). Comes to Charlotte between teaching positions. Right now, I am working as Center Director for a ESL program in Wyoming.

transfered to UNC Charlote, where I majored in anthropology and history. Just completed MA in
international management fron the School for International Training in 2002. Have been a teacher of English as a Foreign language since 1998.
Workplace
Cyndie has been doing a little bit of everything since high school. But working with students from around the world has become the true calling. I started teaching English in Japan in 1998. I worked ...Expand for more
in Japan for a year on the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. After completing the first phase of my grad studies, I went to work as a consultant/business English teacher for private companies in Warsaw, Poland. I did that for almost two years. Then I finished work on my MA in International/Intercultural Management. I took a job working in a private after school academy for kids in Seoul, Korea.
Did that for about 8 months and came back to settle in the US.
Finally, I got my present position in August, 2004. My job is half Center Director (It's good to be the boss!) and International Student Advisor. I work for a campus-based intensive English program. We have students from a variety of countries, which is very interesting. It's basically administrative - no more teaching. I don't get so excited about some of the managerial/paperwork aspects of my job. Working with the students is the best part.
