Cynthia's Story
Life
Graduating Shaw, I immediately went into the Air Force and became an Air Traffic Controller. After 20 years of traveling the world, I retired and sort of "fell" into a western lifestyle and ended up going to school for boot and saddlemaking. I now have my own custom bootmaking shop "backyardboots . com" in Oklahoma. I have two grown girls and several grandchildren that I love to introduce to my "country" life. I married again in 2007, finally finding "the right guy" and a good man. We have 10 horses, 4 dogs and a selection of cats and are happier than we've ever been.

o Randolph AFB, TX for a year. Got assigned to Japan, Yokota AB 1974 - 76. Loved the orient. Returned to Florida, had a family, stayed there until 79. Military gave me a choice of going to Turkey for a year without my 6 week old baby or going to Minot ND for 5 years -- yep, I chose the frozen north. Frozen it was - snowmobiled at 72 below on the river and fell in love with the country/horse life. 1984 brought me to Chanute, IL as a leadership instructor. There for 4 years and back north again to Malmstrom MT - a horseman's delight assignment. Stayed there until I retired in 91 then worked at a few jobs until the hubby (at that time) got transferred to Sheppard TX, where the VA sent me to boot and saddle making school. I "fell" into a great life as a custom bootmaker.
