Cynthia's Story
Growing up in Little Neck I had big dreams of what my life would be like when I was an adult. I thought I would be an actress or a singer or some sort of "superstar". I thought that being famous would be the greatest thing ever. I couldn't have been further from the truth! After graduating from PS 94, I went to a private school called Henley. Then to another private school called Oakdale. I graduated Oakdale and went to CW Post College where I majored in Theater Arts. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but then I took a course in Criminal Justice and that changed my thinking. I wanted to study Law. I switched my major and "gave up" my childhood thoughts of stardom to pursue law. At one point I transferred to Hofstra University (or as I call the transfer- my dark days) for one year and wound up going back to Post to finish my Bachelor's Degree. y career path changed due to financial circumstances. After graduating I worked at two different advertising companies and wound up meeting my future husband. After we were married I went back to school for law and eventually had two children and became "a stay at home mom." My mother sold our house and moved to Forest Hills. When I got married my husband and I lived in Rego Park and then moved to Douglaston, where we lived for 5 years. We then built a house in Rockland County, NY which is where we live today. My mother still lives in Forest Hills and we visit very often. I love being with my mom, she is truly a special person. As you can see my life hasn't turned out as I had dreamed back in Little Neck but I have no regrets. I have two terrific children, a wonderful husband, two adorable dogs and a few very special friends whom I truly love. I have a good life and wouldn't change a thing!
