Life
Fellow classmates from 1965. I have not had the opportunity to see many of you since graduation. At that time, my father regestered me to attend Lincoln Business college for two years. Determined to explore outside of Jax, I worked part time as a theater ticket attendant and saved. You should remember the Roosevelt, Strand and Ritz theaters. After one year I transfered to the Lincoln Business College in Orlando. I finished the business college the next year and set my sights on Miami. For those who new my steady fellow at that time, Sam Brown. I joined him in Miami and took the name Brown in 1968. He was killed in an auto accident in 1972. I attended Miami Jr College, majoring in accounting. The first opportunity I got to gain employment in an accounting department I took it. t developed and constructed a brand new city known as Palm Coast here in Florida. I've been promoted to Supervisor of accounting for a Classic Kit car Corp. I became an Accounting and Operations Manager assisting the owner in relocating his Pay Per View company to New York. Determination drove me to it and through it and I remain in the accounting field to this day. I did not have kids of my own but raised two of my brothers. I became a ready made single mom in 1983. Before taking this on, I had plans to move to Atlanta, GA. I felt it would be a good thing for all of us to start fresh. I set my goal for a five year plan to make it work for us. Not being a failed plan but an unacomplished one, I felt no regret. The pay scale was just too low. A better paying job lead me back to Miami. The kids were well adjusted and excelled in school beyond my wildest dreams. I had no worries and they were as ready as I was to return to sunny Miami. Summing up a bit, the company I worked for went out of business in 1995. I returned to Jacksonville in 1996.
