Cynthia's Story

So, I’m supposed to write “my story.” How much is too much? How much is not enough? I’ll let you decide. Feel free to quit reading any time. I claim East High School as My high school because it’s the one I remember the most, even if most of my class mates don’t remember me. East was the 3rd High School I attended. I’m a two-time high school drop-out with three (yes, THREE) high school diplomas, an associates degree in business, and I’m a certified paralegal. I’m an only child and my parents divorced when I was very young. I grew up on the highways, byways and flyways of this great country, sometimes moving every 3-5 days. My “road” has had more bumps, ruts, rocks and detours than I can count, and I got lost a few times along the way. If you think you want more details, you’ll have to ask. I have nothing to hide, just don’t want to bore you or take up too much of your time. Today I’m right where I’m supposed to be, loving life and having fun. I married for the 3rd time in 2007 and I’ve never been happier. After all the moving and traveling I’ve done, I found my own little piece of heaven in Carbon County, Utah. Some people may not like the scenery in my neck of the woods, but I think it’s beautiful. High desert, minutes from mountains, high pines and aspen, and several lakes. My house is at the end of a 300' driveway, surrounded by book cliffs on three sides of 84 acres. Our neighbors are white tail deer, hawks, eagles, falcons, and we even had a yearling mountain l...Expand for more
ion cub in the back yard this spring. I even like the trains passing nearby. I’m on a same-name basis with my boss, and my company is Help Advocates, Inc. We help people get disability benefits. The most boring part of my job is reading medical records. The most fun part is playing with federal judges. The best part is helping those that truly need it. I always have fun in my job. If I can’t have fun, I don’t do it. I just wish my Chief Justice would let me wear my Harley shirts and blue jeans into Hearing. When I asked him why I couldn’t, he spread his arms out wide, gave me a big grin and said, “Well, they won’t let me!” Gotta love that man! I’m proud to be a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Moab Utah Lodge 2021. I was the first woman to be elected Exalted Ruler (read Lodge President) of Price Utah Lodge 1550, and I was also the first woman to be appointed Sargent at Arms of the Utah State Elks Association. As an only child, I get to pick my siblings, and many of these people have become my brothers and sisters. I’m a smart aleck; I like to laugh, tease and have fun. I enjoy exploring the mountains, road trips when ever we can (out-of-state hearings are fun if my husband can go), and riding as co-pilot on the V-rod. I drive a bright, grass-green Jeep Wrangler with a 5" lift, soft top and over-sized Kevlar tires. (Silly boy! Jeeps are for Girls!) Oh, and an ice cold shot of tequila is perfect after work. P.S. Look for me on facebook if you want. Keep Smilin’!
