Cynthia's Story
Hi all,
After more than 20 years in Boston and three years overseas with Peace Corps in Thailand and The Gambia, I moved to Washington DC in 2004, where I'm running fellowships for scientists and engineers with the American Association for the Advancement of Science -- what a place for a high school science-phobe to end up! The work is at the interface of science and policy, and is very engaging and rewarding.
DC was never on my list of places to live, but it's turned out to be a great fit -- although it's sometimes a bit over the top with the...Expand for more
"eat, sleep, and breathe politics" atmosphere.
I now live in MD, just outside "The District" in a small town of 6,500 with lots of green space and a great community spirit.
One of the best things about moving to DC is that I'm near my AFS brother, Kwame Adom Nkansah, who you may remember was an exchange student from Ghana to Oxford Hills during our senior year.
I have room for visitors and the nation's capital is a great place to tour, so be in touch if you are planning a trip this way! You can reach me directly at: crr at pipeline dot com.
