Cynthia's Story
After a wonderful 4 years of Singing Valentines, and more with Staudigal, I left Mayfair with lots of good memories and friends. Many of whom I still see today. I do wish that I could see more of them more often. I never moved far from high school days currently living behind Mayfair High and next to the house that one of my dear alumni friends grew up in.
After a 16 year marriage to my high school sweetheart, and 3 beautiful children, I became a single working mom. I was a legal assistant, a court monitor and a police dispatcher. I then worked for 15 yrs for the City of South Gate who I now work for part-time as a consultant since retiring from there in 2010. In 1993 I met and married the love of my life, my best buddy, Mark. nsisting of 5 children and 3 grandchildren, all of whom live within a few miles of us. That means that between finding time for traveling in our motorhome and working a little part-time, we are entertaining family.
Obviously, other than traveling, this life of mine has held little time for hobbies so I never started any. From time to time I have been searching for a few of my lost high school buddies and just recently I have found all three of them. I am thrilled. I got to meet one after 40 yrs. Isn't that part of what all this is about. I love an opportunity to reminisce, catch up and rekindle.
