Cynthia's Story
Wow, lots of living since Stillwater days! But not quite as ambitious as Vicki Cargill- congratulations on all you have accomplished Vicki. I have been married 3 times with no children. Some of you may remember Tom Izzo from Saratoga. We got married very young and it was a very short time together. Then after 8 years of finding myself, working hard, being a hippy and living in Aspen, CO, I decided to get serious about my life and moved to Los Angeles. The job I got there took me to San Francisco then a switch of jobs and back to Southern California. I never completed college as I became involved in protesting the Vietnam war and chasing Tom Izzo, I hitch hiking back and forth from California to Saratoga many times alone021. Most of the work I did was based in the New Age spiritual realm. Then at 28, I met Stuart Wilde from England and we married in 1979. Together we created a mail order/publishing business (of New Age products and books) and I did all the graphic design, copy writing and typesetting (ancient skills). Stuart went on to be a world famous lecturer and we parted ways. I then married S. Shumway Poole, a wealthy man from the midwest (I didn't know he was wealthy until our wedding). That lifestyle taught me a great deal. I learned that money isn't everything and many people ...Expand for more
suffer greatly around how much they have or don't have. While married to Shumway, I found my Guru, Swami Sivananda Radha and she became my spiritual mother. I studied and taught many types of Yoga (Hatha, Mantra, Kundalini) for 10 years. Our home in Northern Idaho was a Radha Center and many events took place there. I taught most summers at her Ashram in British Columbia. Shumway and I were married 23 years and divorced in 2009. I spent a year and a half working on that divorce and am now living comfortably in my own home in Santa Fe. I have continued to play piano throughout all these years and now teach children from my home. I also have a casita on my property and do Airbnb/VRBO. I also paint. I do oil pastels - abstract and still life paintings as well as Process Painting - a technique to cultivate creativity and intuition. Finally, while I manage my homes and teach piano, I keep my finger on the human growth pulse and for the past 8 years have been studying a system called Human Design. I am working towards qualifying as a professional analyst and will give readings. I meditate every morning, play piano, paint, walk my dog and heard cats in and out of the house. I invite anyone who comes this way to stay for a visit. Mi casa es su casa. Vaia con Dios todo.
