Cynthia's Story
I would hope old friends would remember me as anyone but the skinny kid I was! Sure wish I was that skinny again!
Oldest of seven kids, had Reeds all over the post!
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family thought that was a good idea. Turns out, they were wrong. After working with the Red Cross at Ft. Knox hospital, I found out I couldn't stand the sight of blood.
Blow off steam? Clean the house, with the stereo up loud, that never changed for me. To relax, I like to bowl, play bingo, do bead work, cross stitch or just cat nap!
Since Fort Knox, I've lived in NC and Alaska. I married Army, moved to NC. While there we got a divorce, after his TWO tours in VN. Married Air Force and eventually ended up in Alaska. Been here 19 years but may be heading back to NC. Winters are too long up here!
Loved soccer when the kids were young, typical soccer mom. I like to watch The Biggest Loser and American Idol. Love to listen to NPR, they play ...Expand for more
music you don't hear elsewhere.
I was always content staying home and taking care of my family. I did home day care for years, loved the babies. Went from that to managing apartments (adults) for 15 years, recently quit that line of work. Mostly now I volunteer at the local Senior Center, you learn so much from them!
I have one granddaughter by my son who was given up for adoption by her mother. I am so hoping that someday she'll look for us! My youngest daughter has an 8 year old daughter, my pride and joy, totally spoiled! Don't know how I'll be able to leave them to go back to NC. We'll just see if that happens.
My family is still around Fort Knox, I go by the high school whenever I go home to visit. I walked through those halls a couple years ago when I heard they were tearing down the building. That was very strange, walking those halls almost 40 years later. It's going to feel different to drive by next time and our school will be gone.
Peace!
