Cynthia's Story
Life
WOW! Where did the time go? It seems like just yesterday that we were throwing our caps in the air. Well, I've been pretty busy. After graduation, I enlisted in the military. I worked in the field of military intelligence. After four years and a Bush sponsored tour in the Gulf War, I had to say good-bye to Uncle Sam. It was an experience that I will never forget. I came back to Hickory and went to CVCC where I got a degree in Respiratory Care. I met my husband, David, a year later, and when he got stationed at Fort Bragg, I moved. And the saga continues......
I now have a teenage daughter and my mother is rolling on the floor with laughter everytime I call her and say, "Mom you will not believe what your granddaughter has done?!!" I feel 18 at heart, but, the body is feeling 37. I can still remember when I thought 37 was old. LOL. I can still hang with the young bucks. It just takes me a little longer to recover. I am most surprised by two things.
#1 that I can still be attracted to the same man for so long. He still makes those butterflies dance.
#2 That I actually love being a parent. For a few years I avoided children like the plague. Now I have 3 beautiful, charming, spoiled, but well-loved children. The sky is the limit for the Kelley clan.
