Hi everyone, I've was married for 25 years to Wayne however, after a very long illness, he passed away in July 2004. I have two adorable but very mishevious cats, Squeaky and Hershel. After 34 years at Northeastern Illinois University I have finally retired. I used to think that retiring was a fate worse than death but now it seems like winning the lottery. I loved my job but want to do much more. I will take some time off to contemplate my next steps. I would like to do some vol...Expand for more
unteer work, maybe travel, take some drawing classes. I hopefully have time to decide.
My first job was at Sears on 6 corners in Chicago, where I initially earned $1.45 an hour working in the women and junior departments. When I left Sears I was earing a whopping $2.45 an hour. What I remember most about it is when I was hired, women could not wear pants to work and later on only if it was a 'pants suit'. And, the initially the store was not open on Sunday. That changed before I left.
