Military
I began as a non-designated seaman because I was told a reservest was not allowed to program computers. After discussions with a yeoman I found out different and requested to strike for DP3. Took the test and made it... was transferred to PAMILANT Norfolk where I was promised a programming job if I discharged from the reserves and joined the regular Navy for 4 years. command was disastablished and move to New Orleans for my last two years of the tour. I agreed and began my career as a computer programmer which I still enjoy doing when I am allowed to do it on the job. Unfortunely, now I have to manage other teams of programmers and make sure the systems come togeher as designed. I spent 7 years total on active duty and have been working as a contractor or civil servent for the Navy for 38 years.
