Life
University of Michigan, B.A. in English Literature in 1958. University of Michigan Medical School, M.D. in 1962. Thereafter lived in San Francisco, California 1962-2003, except for 3 years of post-graduate work at Washington University, St. Louis. Moved to Douglas, Michigan in 2003. Career as Chief of Urologic Surgery Kaiser-Permanente Medical Center, Santa Clara, California, retired since 1996. Married 1961, with 3 children (currently in San Diego, La Jolla, and Montclair, NJ), 7 grandchildren. Divorced 1975. Partnered in a gay relationship since 1977 and raised the...Expand for more
3 children together with my partner Arthur, and married to him since 2008. Retired at age 59. I now live summers in the village of Douglas in southwestern Michigan, and winters in Palm Springs, CA...a tough life. Active in gay rights movement until retirement, and co-founded the first medical society for gay physicians and gay health issues. Enjoy travel, community service, playing bridge, gourmet ethnic foods, computer graphics and photography, theater, and lots of good times with my partner, children, grandmunchkins, and the greatest circle of friends since Auntie Mame.
