Dale's Story
I enlisted into the US Navy in 1960, graduated from Radar electronics school, Judy Herron and I were married in November 1960, lived in Honolulu for 3 years, stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI and served on the USS Wilhoite, Radar Pickett Ship DER-397 for 3 years, discharged in 1964.
Moved to Santa Clara, CA where our daughter and son were raised. Moved to Oregon in 1989 in a job change and then in 1995, I made another job change that brought us to Yorba Linda, CA for 7 years and then back to Oregon in 2002.
I ended up as a Transformer and Inductor design engineer for my entire career of 40+ years, semi-retired in 2005 as I am on a retainer with my last employer and have lived in ...Expand for more
Hood River, OR since 2002.
Judy has put up with me for over 52 years and she still is the love of my life!
I like to fish the Hood River and lakes around Hood River Valley and just for fun, play the ukulele.....Judy recently made her own Concert size ukulele in Kona, HI while we attended the Aloha Music Camp for one week.
We are the proud grandparents of a grandson who is a EE and soon to graduate, our granddaughter who has degrees in computer science and mathematics....she also has a computer programming job lined up upon graduation in May.
Life has been good all these years and we are thankful to still be in good health that allows us to do some traveling…we really like Kona!
