After completing work in 1976 on both a bachelor's and a master's degree at UNC-Chapel Hill, I came to Georgia to teach U.S. History to high school juniors. After 13 years, I transitioned to ...Expand for more
a leadership role outside the classroom which included a 7 year tenure as a high school assistant principal followed by 5 years as a curriculum coordinator at the district level, 3 years as a high school principal and culminating with the title of Associate Superintendent for Teaching and Learning. This position involved oversight responsibility for curriculum, instruction, assessment, special education and federal programs. In my 16th year of service for Gwinnett County Public Schools, I decided to retire as of January 31, 2012. I am now in the market for a superintendent position in a progressive school district.
My wife, Tracie Miller Robbins completed 30 years as an elementary teacher and is now retired. Our 27 year old son, Bret is a pilot in the Air Force and is stationed at Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Texas where he has a home with his wife, Jenny. Bret and Jenny are expecting their first child in August and this will be our first grandchild. Our daughter, Chloe is completing her sophomore year at the University of Georgia continuing a family tradition begun by her brother Bret who graduated there in 2006.".
