Dale's Story
I moved to Seattle in '81, where I was an art director, designer, and graphics gun-for-hire for 20-some-odd years. Then, in 2005, I moved to Oakland, CA, to be in a relationship with Mike (now Misha) Norton, another former West High alumnus. How did that happen? Let's just say that life can be⦠unpredictable.
My mom, whom many people remember from the library at West High, is in middle-stage Alzheimer's, so I have been back to upstate NY quite often in the last few years. I'm also still close to my brother, sister and their families, my ol'...Expand for more
pal Anne Sprout, Su (Schmitt) Adamson and other Rochester friends. Living on the west coast is great, and California is quite a trip, but I gotta say I appreciate upstate NY more now than I did when I lived there.
UPDATE: In June 2010 I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. After an operation in July and numerous rounds of chemo and radiation therapies over the next 6 months, I can finally sayâas of New Years 2011âthat I am NED (free of any evidence of cancer). Misha and I are planning a European trip this spring to celebrate. Wish us luck!!
