Damian's Story
I still visit Dunkirk about twice a year to see my brothers Micah and Gareth and old friends, but for the most part I feel pretty out of touch with it all.
After graduating from Fredonia State in 95 I traveled to southeast asia and lived in Cambodia for a couple years teaching English as a second language From there I moved to San Francisco where I met my wife (now ex wife). We moved around a lot, living in Montana, Michigan and back to California. We made two beautiful daughters (now 10 and 6) and then divorced.
I'm a teacher, writer, and actor (on stage, not film) and a lover of women. (ha ha)
I live off the grid (meaning my power is solar generated, propane heat, etc), but with all the comforts of 'normal' living, in Mendocino County. The town I live in -- Willits -- is the birth place of Seabuiscit. I work at a school that was built on the land he grazed upon. Willits is the so-called "Gateway to the Redwoods" but hardly any old growth remain because of the intense logging which still goes on to this day, but the young trees...Expand for more
are still pretty damn big.
Most of all, though I can't believe twenty freakin years have passed since I was a Dunkirk Marauder (what kind of mascot is a Marauder anyway? Didn't they like rape and pillage? I know it's not supposed to be a panther.). I was a shy quiet kid who got picked on a lot, and really didn't start coming out of my shell till the end of my senior year. So basically I'm a late bloomer. Probably skinnier, taller and with more hair than most you punk-asses. Kidding. I'm going slowly bald and it sucks but hey that's life, right?
The other thing I remember most about high school were the number of nicknames I had gathered, seemingly all of which had to do with my alleged affiliation with a certain dark lord. There was the Omen, Anti, Son of Satan, and then of course Damo Sebo. (damosebo at yahoo, if you care to write me a note). I use that last one as my yahoo email account. Which just goes to show that no matter how much time passes and how far away from home you move, you can never entirely escape high school.
