Damita's Story
Life
I will be 30 April 8, 2006. I've been married for one year now to my husband Eugene White Jr from South East, Washington, DC. I have one daughter Deja who will be 9 years old in January. I started college with AIU-American Intercontinental University online working towards my Associates-Business with a concentration in Human Resources and plans to continue my education and recieve a Bachelors of Arts in Organizational Psychology and Development. I will receive my Associates in November 2006. Going back to school has it's challenges but I've gotten over the hump and so far recieved 96%-A.
After Suitland I attended General Communications for Business Administration, got bored. Worked at Giant Food in security, got bored. Had my daughter in 1997 and life was never the same afterwards. ger, primarily working with Foodstamps and Temporary Cash Assistance. Working at Social Services was a challenge, I mean a big one! You deal with so many people, with so many issues in so little time and little to no resources. It has made me a better person and equiped me with the skills and patience needed to conquer my new employment at Marshall Heights Community Development Organization, Inc. in Washington, DC. I am a Job Devloper and assist persons with job search, employment and adult education. I've found that my purpose goes beyond finding them a job but cousenling and just being concerned about them as a person. Some of my collegues can't believe that I just met these people becuase I get such a loving response. I have been fortunate enough to minister a word that inspires and encourages them. I thank God for allowing this opportunity to help others and I know when my time is up here I'll be doing even greater things.
