Dan's Story
Life
Life and work are an intersecting sourse of pleasure for me today. I absolutely work to live--NOT live to work. My job and my cool new career path have brought me the things I have wanted for many years, though not all. My work has brough me to the Italian Alps, Venice, Tuscany, Sicily and Rome. I have taught pediatrics to Italian doctors, dined in the Italian Riviera, got lost at Heathrow and lunched at Charles DeGaulle in Paris. I have worked the field hospital at Talladega (met Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon!!!) and come home sayin "Y'all"; sat on the highest peak in North America and looked down on Banff in wonder, rubbed the sacred indian rock at Lake Louise for answers (they WERE answered~eeriely), flew the city (Chicago) by helicopter, toured the jails of Metro Detroit (just toured); got the "cool" tour of Yellowstone ...Expand for more
Nat'l Park by the head of the EMS/Ranger post; 4th of July fireworks on the National Mall under the Washington Monument; rode with paramedic squads in Seattle, Phoenix, Palm Beach(FL); Kansas City and Rapid City (SD)!! I was the guest of the Speaker of the House at the 2004 Presidential Inaugural! Next month, dinner on the Queen Mary. Had great loves, great losses, one great child (Hi Josh); lost my dad in '89 and motored down I-80 last night at a high rate of speed with my windows down and Sinatra crooning through my Sirius....saw a shooting star and made a wish.....hope it comes true <wink>.
Workplace
Paramedic/instructor/trainer....headed to the dark side into medical sales....lots of fun and thought-provoking times taking care of sick and injured people..and teaching others to do the same. Pretty fulfilling, I would say.
