Dan's Story

Dan is from Charleston, SC. Dan's schools include Garrett High School (1959-1963). After high school, Dan attended Clemson University and graduated in 1967 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, After a brief stint as an engineer at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, he was awarded a direct commission in the US Army and served as a First Lieutenant in Vietnam during 1970-71. After Vietnam, Dan returned to Clemson and earned an MS in Mechanical Engineering. Dan worked for several major corporations and retired from Kimberly-Clark in 2008. eaker systems and audio electronic components. He has written 3 books on speaker building, the last of which was published by McGraw-Hill. His fourth book which was on manufacturing management was published by Taylor and Francis. He is also the primary inventor of a new orthopedic back brace and was awarded a US patent for it in 2013. He and his wife Pat have been married for nearly 55 years and now reside in North Augusta, SC after living in Wisconsin for 19 years. They have 3 children, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. They have been avid RVers and campers for the past 20 years and traveled all over the US.
