Graduated High School in 1978. Worked in the Building Hardware Retail & Wholsale industry in Winnipeg until 1981. Moved to Saskatchewan and managed a retail lumber and hardware store until 1982. Decided to go to University in 1982 and Graduated with a B.Sc. in Medical Microbiology from the University of Saskatchewan in 1987. Worked as a medical microbiologist in Saskatoon while studying for on a Certification in Virology which was completed in 1988.
Got married in 1987. My wife got her B.Ed degree and taught elementary and high school. Have 3 sons and one daughter (1988, 1991, 1994, 1996). Three are now in or just completing University or College.
Entered the pharmaceutical industry in Saskatchewan as a microbiologist in 1988. Moved into managment of a large pharmaceutical manufacturing company in 1990. Returned to Winnipeg ...Expand for more
in 1994 to work for a start-up pharmaceutical biotechnology company in Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance.
Moved to Los Angeles in 1995 to manage the Regulatory Affairs division for the World's largest plasma fractionation biologics firm. Worked my way up the ladder to Acting Vice President of Regulatory Affairs.
In 2001, joined forces with a few colleagues as VP Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance to assist a start-up biotechnology firm developing vaccines and immune modulating drugs targeted toward auto-immune diseases. Retired in 2003 and went into Consulting. In 2007 founded my own consulting firm, Klassen Consulting, LLC. Traveling all over the world on business.
Also own a 30' travel trailer and go camping up and down the California coast as often as possible. Now looking to buy mountain ranch property in Colorado or New Mexico to build a log house for my retirement years.
