Life Life has been good. I enjoy travelling with buddies to golf destinations, especially in the winter months. Workwise I have been in the construction industry since 1988. Primarily roof work and light construction. I run my own small company as well. So I guess I am work driven. I have two great children that I have half of the year at my home, half with their mother. They are both teenagers now- 14 and 13. As a Dad, Im more their buddy than the stern rule maker type. We golf together and hang out doing whatever they dream up. I told the kids I would give them $10. for every A they got in school. I think I owe them each alot of money! Workplace In 1988 I needed something new to do. At the time I guess I was lacking self esteem and just needed something a little different than pumping gas and selling overpriced convenience store candy bars and junk food. College wasnt working out, money was tight. I enlisted the help of a job service and they found me a few different positions to apply for. One was at Arrow Roofing and Supply. It was funny, I walked into Arrows office, $100.00 light from paying the employment service for their help, and the receptionist said one simple sentence- "You have to take a drug test today and you start tommorrow." I'm like "What!" Yeah you start tommorrow. Glad I spent that 100 bucks on the temp service. Could have walked in here off the street and saved myself a hundred bones. Oh well 18 years later I'm still there. Sounds like a physical job, eh? It Is, but just like anything, its mind over matter. I remember the first 200.00 take home check- took a year and a half.
