Dan's Story
Updated 2-18-2016
Workplace: Retired July 2015 --- And loving it!
I worked on airplanes for 41 years - 4 while in the navy and 37 at Boeing. Since December 1993 I worked in Delivery Quality Assurance on Boeing 777 jets in Everett, Washington and prior to that, I worked 767/747 in delivery. From 1986 to 1989, I worked quality assurance for 3 years at the Boeing Flight Test Center in Seattle on 757/767/747 aircraft. In 1984 & 1985 I was quality assurance on the Minuteman Missile Program (for Boeing) in Colorado, North Dakota, Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota and Wyoming.
I've been married nearly 31 years now. Sandy and I have two boys, both in college. We live in Snohomish, Washingtion, (about 30 miles northeast of Seattle), in a beautiful home on one acre.
After Sandy retires 2017, we plan on living in Wenatchee, Washington, on the eastern side of the Cascade Mountains! Love it over there --- The mountains, the Columbia River... Beautiful!!
Note.... Update 2/2018
My dear wife, Sandy of 32 years, is fighting for her life! Last July ...Expand for more
doctors discovered a tumor on her hip... and on the first week of August it was diagnosed as Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma. The tumor was removed after 5 weeks of radiation, however the cancer spread to her lungs January 2018 . She is now in god's hands and 'Seattle Cancer Care Alliance'. Please pray for her,... I love her dearly!! Thank you to all.
Update, Sept. 2021
Been through 50 months of hell. Cancer is not fun at all! I wouldn't wish it on anyone! That being said, and after numerous surgeries, chemo's and radiation treatments, Sandy is now free of cancer! Thank you to Dr. Pollack at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and his plan to use Keytruda, (Pembrolizumab), to attack the cancer In May 2018 as part of a new trial study! July 2021, cat scans revealed that the cancerous tumors that spread to her lungs are no longer there! It's unreal We now move forward cautiously because we know there is no actual cure for this type of sarcoma cancer... But presently she's cancer free and WE'LL TAKE THAT! Married 36 years and still going!!
