Dan's Story
I've been happily married to Kathleen Mary Hynes for the past 25 years. We have 2 wonderful children. Kaitlin is a graduate from Wagner College in NYC. Daniel will be a senior at Raritan High School in New Jersey in 2008-2009.
We're active on several fronts. I'm the Chief Engineer for a Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceutical Company (Ortho-McNeil Consumer Products--makers of Tylenol), and coordinate Utilities for my operating company. Kathy is an insurance coder for Bayshore Hospital. I'm also an assistant Scoutmaster and Lead Adviser for the Order of the Arrow Ceremonies team in our BSA Council.
Kaitlin studied abroad in Madrid, Spain during her Junior year and we travelled to Spain to visit her. It was our first real foray into Europe so we're going back to do a country every year. Spain and England were completed, and for our 25th, we promised ourselves we'd do the homeland, Ireland. We'll be there for 2 weeks at the end of the summer. After we get home from Ireland, we'll begin planning the next adventure--trying to decide which to do first, ...Expand for more
it's between Italy or Greece. We've decided that we can't do the Ireland trip without the kids, so we're waiting until Daniel has finished his commitment to Boy Scouts as Summer Camp Waterfront director, Lifeguard and Aquatics Instructor (his third year). Daniel recently earned his Eagle badge and will have his Court of Honor on June 22nd.
We have a chocolate lab, Molly, who's our 11 year old 'puppy'. Our lives are filled with trips to New York City (for Broadway shows and the big-city hustle & bustle), Scouting events (we were at the last National Jamboree, SeaBase in Florida, Philmont in New Mexico), and Mexico (specifically Playa del Carmen-near Cozumel, where we have a resort condo). We alternate winter and summer trips between Mexico (for the winter) and Europe.
Our leisure time is spent travelling with the family. Each year we try to have a BIG vacation to celebrate and rejuvenate ourselves.
It's my most fervent wish that anyone reading this has found their own measure of happiness in their life and that only good things come to you and yours.
