Dan's Story
At present time I am retired from the creative side of Advertising. Still living in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan with two Golden Retrives and Two cats and been involvement with saving goldens. Mazy, who was the first saved golden and been with us for seven years has pasted after surviving 18 months with lymp cancer. Her pal and buddy Bailey continues life with a new partner Hailey, who was his love at first sight, as well as hers. For the last year and a half they have kept me laughing besides thinking they have always been every part of life and a big part of the dog park..
I will say this, that sense retirement started I am busier now than went I was working. Although I was not ready for the yellow brick road but hoping to work to at least 70. It just that some things are not our own control. My health is pretty good at this time, just the m...Expand for more
inor problems that age brings on. It looks like the medical problems of the past are just monitored by my three doctors.me But me,I deal with the more rare condishion that less than 800 people have in the U.S.A. It's what is called adult chronic ITP (Idiopathic Throbocytopenic Purpura), it's where my own body distroys the platelets in the blood and because I have had two bouts it is classified as chronic. It been well over 11 years from the last occurrance but the doctors have to monitor me for the rest of life. There is no pain or sickness just that I have to watch for signs that send me to any hospital ASAP. But like i said earlier I am healthy and active at present time. Walking, biking, roller blading, with other activities as well as doing volunteer work for Meals On Wheels. The days just do not seem long enough.
