Dana's Story
Wow! It's hard to believe that it's been nearly 20 years since I graduated high school. I went to college right out of H.S. My original plan was to become a psychologist. I started at Missouri Western State College and finished at Arkanssas Tech University. My parents moved to Russellville, AR in 1991, and I soon followed. While in AR, I worked in a residential setting for adults with special needs. After graduating in 1994, I took some time off to 'rest my brain' and look into graduate schools. I fell in love during this time and moved to Louisiana to get married and attend graduate school. (My husband had moved to LA to be near his dad.) I attended Northeast Louisiana University (now the University of Louisiana at Monroe) and worked as a graduate assistant. education. I was fortunate to find a job before I even graduated. Thirteen years later, I still work for the same school system. I spent nine years working in a self-contained classroom at the junior high level, and the rest of the time working in an elementary school.
We don't have any children of our own, and have talked about adopting, but haven't done anything official yet. We've had cats and dogs our entire marriage. Currently, we have two lab mixes who live in the backyard, two sassy cats who live indoors, and a young black cat who recently adopted us living outside in our laundry room.
When I'm not working, I enjoy playing on the computer, especially Facebook. I also read a lot and crochet a little. Before we got so busy, we used to go fishing frequently. We do mangage to go bowling once a week. We're not professional by any means, but we usually have fun.
Okay, now I've told a bit about me. Who's next? LOL
He ended up moving to Louisiana to be near his dad.
