Life
Hello Old Classmates,
It's been quite a while since I have spoken to any of you, so here is the latest on me. I went back to school at Forsyth Tech and got a AAS in Business Administration in 1986 and had a daughter that same year. I worked many different jobs like waitressing, manufacturing computer electrical parts, cashiering, inspecting and chopping moldings for picture frames, and managing a convenience store. I had another daughter in 1993. In 1997, I had a life-changing event take place when my boyfriend and the father of my second daughter died suddenly in April. Then, my eldest daughter's daddy died in August of the same year. I went back to school to gain the skills needed to help me support my family. I graduated from Davidson Comm. College in 1999 with an AAS Medical Laboratory Technology degree which ...Expand for more
helped me get the job I currently hold at Forsyth Medical Center. I did so well that I continued my studies while working and received a AS in 2000 from DCCC stil with a 4.0 GPA. I continued my studies at UNCG and graduated in May 2003 with a BS Chemistry and a BA Biology. I was then able to sit for the registry and am now a licensed Medical Technologist. My hopes for the future are to take the Specialist in Chemistry and Hematology exams in the 2 years, to help my eldest daughter get through college and help keep her focused on the important stuff, to buy a house now that the interest rates have fallen, to help my youngest in her school work and band practice, and to meet someone nice that I can talk to. I have spent a lot of time trying to take care of the essentials that I really only have friends at work to talk to.
