Dana's Story
Life
Wow, where to start. I went into the Army the day after our graduation party. After my trainign I was sent overseas to a NATO base in Holland. There I married a Dutch woman. Life in Holland was fun, very fun. Weekends were spent exploring various areas of Holland that most americans never see. Shopping on the weekends in Luxemburg and Belgum with my new Dutch in-laws. Very interesting indeed!
I took two trips into Yougoslavia. The first trip we vacationed on beaches of the Adriatic Sea (right on the beach, parked the car and setup a tent feet from the water!) The second was down through the center almost to Greese. This trip was just before the Country tore itself apart. Very sad. Ok, now flash to the present. I live outside of Denver Colorado. I am married to an accountant. I have a 19 year old daughter from my marriage in Holland (she has lived with me since she was 2). I have a very beautiful granddaughter of 2 years. Her name is Kaden Monrow Dorn Kinsey. I really should post a picture so that I can brag more! My hobbies are riding motorcycles, camping, fishing & life in general. I think that if asked aobut my life and the way it turned out; I would have to say that I am very pleased. I have done far more than I could ever have imagined. I have traveled to most of the European countries. Traveled to Yougoslavia twice and been to Prauge for a week just to bum around. I would highly recommend Prauge to anyone. I think the last thing I want to do is skydive-that I am saving for later in life! I would enjoy hearing from those from the class of '79 or anyone outside of '79 that knew me, or would admit to knowing me. I offer credit to several teachers for pointing me int he direction that helped me to be who I am today. Mr Paul, Mr. Fisk, Mr. ...Expand for more
Dimke (sp) just to name a few. I hope after reading this you will email me and tell me about yourself. Many blessings to you in our Lords name, Dana Kinsey
School
After high school I attended the Electronic Studies program at Fort Gordon, Georgia for one year. My advanced Electronic studies were completed at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. I attended specialized Computer Test Equipment training at an Electronics Firm in Virginia. I studied Advanced Microwave, LASER theory and Physcial and Dimensional Standards related to NIST (National Institute of Standard Technologies) in Boulder Colorado. I completed college while stationed in Germany.
Workplace
While on Active duty here in Colorado, teaching advanced electronics theory, I was hired by Hewlett Packed in the Denver area to do computer repairs. I was hired to teach electronic theory to civilian students at a vocational college. After taking an early retirement from the Army in '92 I started a small computer nretail store just outside of Denver Colorado. I am now into my 3rd retail store.
Military
I joined the ARMY during my Junior/Senior High break. I left for active duty the day after Graduation. My training was in Electronics and Physical Dimensional Standards. The vast majority of almost 15 years were spent in Europe. My second and very extended tour was to Germany. I was only 20 min from the France border. I worked in a laboratory where we maintained the transfered standards from NIST in Boulder Colorado throughout the military in Europe. My last 6 years were spent here in Denver Colorado at Ft. Lowery, an Air Force Base, teaching Computerized Electronics.
I achieved Master Instructor and gained my Colorado Teaching Permit. I took an early retirement from the Army in late 1993.
