Life
Hello to any friend visiting my info. My husband Bill and I now live on my family farm. Bill and I married in 1986. He is my rock. We have weathered many storms and have emerged smiling. He is retired USAF/Disabled VET. He is Santa for several events in the area during the holidays and keeps our farm going the rest of the year. I am married to Santa. How much better could it be! We built a small country home 2 years ago and love waking to birds chirping and the quiet of the country.
Together we have 6 children (one maried; 2 semi-engaged, 2 divorced; and one confirmed bachelor). I have two sons, Ryan and Cory, from my marriage to Ken Williams. Ryan is the CEO in CA and Cory is working for an oil company in New Mexico. Cory has a son Chase who is an adorable six year old and spends a great deal of time with us when his dad is working. Bill's children are Jim, Wayne and Chrystal Blackwell. on named Nicholas. Bill and I claim Patrick Baird as our 6th child. Patrick lived with us while in high school and has been part of our family ever since. He is going to college. and has two beautiful boys, Keemon and Josh. Christmas is expensive!
My mom is still alive and lives about 100 yards from me.My father died in 2005 and I miss him dearly.
I have worked in education forever. I taught at Sherman, The Colony, and Denison High Schools. I worked as director for a national student mentoring program based out of Austin for a few years and my most recent work has been as assistant director of the Durant Safe Schools Healthy Students grant project. The project ended in August and I am now taking a sabbatical to concentrate on myself and my family.
In January of 2006 I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I am extremely lucky because a very persistant doctor caught my cancer while still in stage one. So far there has been now reoccurance. YAHOO! I have been given a second chance and I hope to use it wisely.
I would love to rekindle former friendships,hear from peers/students and strike up new friendships.
