Life
Hello classmates,
I am now 47 years old. I attended Dillard University for three years after graduating. I was an employee at Johns Hopkins Hospital for 2 years and worked at BG&E for ten years as a propane plant operator. I was the first Black female to hold that position. The work was very rewarding. In 1989 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and I now use a wheelchair. I am currently majoring in legal studies at Univ. of MD. and am the Goodwill Ambassador for the MD Chapter of the M.S. Society. I serve on several committees and am the facillitator for the AllTogether Multiple Sclerosis Support Group. I am also the proud mother of two daughters-one a senior at Western High and the other a student at Morgan State. I am anxious to hear from any of you that graduated with me. Holla....Expand for more
School
Nothing much to say except going to Dunbar was an enjoyable experience. I have so many wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. Thank you M's Woodland, Doc Browne, Mr. Matthews, M's Keller, M's Carr, and Mr. Harrison, and M's Gundy.
College
College life was wonderful. New Orleans was a magical town and the people were so warm. My school was so cool. I was happy that our classes were small and I got one on one interaction with my instructors. I cried when I had to leave. And oh yes, I was Sophmore Queen of my class.
Workplace
I just want to thank the following people from whom I learned so much. Tom Wieszynski, Mel Fowler, Dave Chalmers, Lou Marconi (God rest his soul), Ron Harrison, Butch Grover, Walt Stawinski (God Bless You), Major Payne III, and Gerald Neidenthal.
