Dana's Story
I retired in 2016 after 24 years as a self-employed human resources consultant, and joined the Board of Directors of Curt's Café in Evanston. My eco-friendly, green-technology dream house is still not done. It is the first LEED certified single-family home in Evanston. Nate Kipnis is the architect, and he's refusing to admit that he made any mistakes, along with the general contractor, who is incompetent. I finally got out of that contract and found a new contractor, who has finished most of the outstanding items. Afterwards the original contractor sued me for not paying the final payment! It's crazy! Warning: do your research before you hire anyone for a major project! I did achieve the Platinum level, at least.

I love gardening, hanging out with friends, going to live theater and concerts, art fairs, Cubs baseball games and music festivals. I follow the Chicago Blackhawks, but don't feel safe squished shoulder to shoulder with strangers. So I watch on TV. I'm a total nester and enjoy sitting outside on my courtyard patio with friends, enjoying the rain gardens, bunnies, squirrels, birds and other critters!
I am active in the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, and am still a radical political activist.! I'm a lifetime member of NOW,

My biggest crush was Howie Berkson. I can say that now because I told him at the 20th reunion. Almost all the girls at Locust Jr. High knew it and teased me. I guess I wasn't very subtle back then! I think I had a crush on him for five years. Hi Howie!
