Dana's Story
I graduated from GHS in 1968. I was the loud, mouthy one. After graduation I reverted to the shy person I had been most of my life, (some of you will not believe this tale--but it was true) and enlisted in the Army for 4 years, spending two of those in Germany. I loved the German food and beer.
After getting out of the service I started work at Oregon State Hospital (Salem) and got to see the actors/actresses filming "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." Anyone that wanted to, could be in the film. I waited for an hour one time and decided my time was more valuable than the $35 I would have gotten as an extra.
Got married on July 9th,1983. Our daughter, Beth Ann, was born in October 10,1984. Went back into the military in 1987 and got a medical discharge. ed many times my decision to move to Arizona, but move we did. I taught History for two years (and hated every minute of it).
Currently, I am teaching English and Reading on the Apache Reservation in Whiteriver, AZ. Which is about 20 miles south of Show Low and 200 miles from Avondale, AZ where myself and my bride of 29 years reside. She works out of the house selling insurance to all those lucky individuals who are taking cruises. Must be nice not to get dressed in the morning. The last member of the family is Wrigley. He is a white, eight year-old boxer. He is the son I'll never have, and his name suits him.
Highlights: To Patty Collister for slapping me in the face. I laughed, but I deserved it. My one great failing is that I didn't apologize to Patty for angering her. I hope she reads this. To Chartlie Shotts for smugggling in a hose and spraying me with it. All I could do was drip. . .drip . . .drip.
