Daneale's Story
Let me just say that life is good! There have been trials, hardships, joys, challenges, achievements, sorrow, excitement, accomplishments .... and on, on and on! All have been part of making me the person I am today. I enjoyed the days at J'ville High, and have truly enjoyed seeing those of you who've crossed my path in the years since we marched across the platform to "Pomp & Circumstance." I remember very little about graduation day - other than the thrill of my classmates cheers for one another as we grabbed that diploma (or was it a fake tube of white rolled paper?? ha ha) and danced across the stage. I think I actually partied the night away with Mary Huffman and a few others of you that night! See, I cannot remember!!! Early stages of dimentia!! YEAH! Anyway, I love you all and pray you are all doing great in life! I'd love to hear from you!
It might surprise some of you: I live in Olathe, KS and serve as a chaplain with VITAS Hospice as well as Associate Pastor of Gardner Church of the Nazarene. I've never married, no kids unless you count my beautiful shelties, Thea & Hunter! :) My folks live 2 hours away; and many of you know my brother, Doug, passed away in 2003. He is still missed very much. I love the midwest - snow and all! I missed the 25th due to health & finances. I am battleing Lyme's Disease and it's really a "one day at a time" struggle.
I'd love to see Diane Horne again. She was really more than a teacher; she was a friend to her students! I remember cruising in Teddy Calhoun's van and going to Ms. Horne's house to hang out. HA HA HA We thought we were cool buying, (was it Boone's Farm?) wine and sharing it between like 6 or 7 of us!!! HA!
Let's see...the "wildest thing I did in high school"? Hard to answer. I was certain charismatic and a bit crazy. I don't recall doing anything illegal or immoral, but I sure had a mouth on me!

nk Mary Wisneski is the only person who ever knew that in 10th grade I had a MAD crush on Alex Wood .. yes Alex, you. But alas, you never noticed me...boo hoo!! :(
I hope old friends remember me as a lifetime friend; as someone who funny, outgoing, a bit crazy, and who always loved them completely - still do!
To be truly happy.... I am truly happy. I love my little home, my dogs who love me even when I am a grouch, being near my folks and other family, and being a chaplain. It's a good life!
The biggest surprise for me is probably that I NEVER have nor NEVER will fit into one of those itsy-bitsy-teenie-weenie bikinis!! HA HA! No, truthfully, the biggest surprise for me was that my brother died so young and unexpectedly.
My one do-over ... humm I think I have a few. I hope that I was never mean or hurtful to any of you in high school. I would want my do-over to be making right anything hurtful I may have done in my childish immaturity of teenage-dom!
Weirdest Job - HA HA!! This made me laugh cuz in 1987 I moved to Carroboro, NC with Mary Wisneski. I had like FIVE jobs b/c every time one of them interfered with our plans to party or head to the coast to hang at the beach, I QUIT the job and headed for fun!!! I acutally worked like ONE day as a counter person in a dry cleaner - and I had to complete a big background check to get that job! HA!
Where have I lived - you are KIDDING ME! My dad retired after 26 years active duty in the USMC. So I lived many places; I changed schools 12 times before 6th grade. Since High School, however, I have lived in KS, NC, KS, CA, KS, MO, KS. I moved because I was a) headed to college, b) returning to NC to see my friends!, c) back to KS to finish college, d) off to LA to spread my wings, e) back to KS to recover from LA! f) off to MO to attend Seminary, g) back to KS to live out my life!! (Or that's where I am for now at least!! :) )
