thomas's Story
A BIG "HELLO" to my classmates of "1961 Year"...I remember the great and special friends of my 1961 class as being a close group of kids anxious to grow up and be out on their own...(when jobs were always available just by wanting to work)...unlike it is now. Since my "High School Years", I went to college for Art and decided it wasn't for me; then it was off to Ferris Institute for Pharmacy...because of a yearlong jack-of-all-trades-like-job at a local Drugstore. I lost interest and joined the Army in 1964-1971...and during that time I married a 1967 Beecher Graduate, Daneata LeClair, had Mr. Bergman sing at our wedding, and one of my best friends, Jerry Ward, (another 1961 Class Member) served as my best man ~ and then, we had 6 children - (4 girls and 2 boys). ing blessed. ))) I went back to college and became a Tool Maker and retired from A.C.Spark Plug in 1988. It seems like I enjoyed keeping the machines running by making parts...(the "Hands On" sort of thing, I guess). Today is May 12th, 2012 and we have 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons and a great-grand-daughter due any day now...within the week. After 45 years of marriage, which has gone by too swiftly, my love for my wife and family still keeps growing. It's too bad that we have more time than money but LIFE could,t be better even if there were "TWO OF ME"...(I don't think so, anyway!) :-)+< We've lived in Birch Run, Michigan for 38 years, and seen all our kids graduate from this great small town and don't plan to go anywhere...and we're doing our best...and staying as well as we can.
