Danette's Story

Life Hi Everyone! I've been reunited with a few of my friends through Classmates.com. I am originally from Buffalo, N.Y. I attended St. Teresa's for grade school, then moved to Parma Hts., OH where I attended Pleasant Valley Jr. High for 1 1/2 years ( 8th & 9th grade), moved to Sandusky, OH and attended Sandusky High School for 1 1/2 yrs. ( rest of 9th grade and 10th grade), then moved back to Buffalo, NY and attended West Seneca West Sr. High (11th & part of 12th grade)and was transferred to the new West Seneca East Sr. High where I finally graduated from in 1970. I attended Potter Rd. Nursing School in my senior yr. and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in May of 1971. I married my husband George in June of 1972. His job on the railroad transferred me back to Ohio where we have been residing for the past 30yrs. I had a 20yr. career as a Licensed Practical Nurse until I herniated two disks in my back. I decided to go back to school and became a Paralegal. Now I can utilize my nursing background with my legal background and specialize in personal injuries. I have not pursued such a position as yet, because my husband took an early "buy-out" and retired early. Now we both do a lot of traveling all over the United States. I am also an artist. I have done and sold many oil paintings. I now prefer to do pyrography/woodburnings and I leave them monochrome or I can color them with oil pencils. I did a woodburning of Wayne Newton and presented it to him in person. I'm trying to locate a few special friends from grade school (St.Teresa..Denny Long, Chucky Butts, Denise Gaeta, Jayne Jacomski, Albert Devlin)..(Pleasant Valley Jr.High....Expand for more
..Barbra Rhodes,Mike Murphy), and then from high school (West Seneca East & West..Diane Gervase, Richard Schubert, Linda Sherman)..(Sandusky High..Paul Miller and William Haney--1969 grads)and of course, any of you who remember me are welcome to email me, I would love to hear from all of you. School I'm originally from Buffalo, N.Y. I moved away for a couple of years then moved back to Cheektowaga, NY and attended West Seneca West Sr. High (11th & part of 12th grade)and was transferred to the new West Seneca East Sr. High where I finally graduated in 1970. College I attended College in Steubenville,OH in 1979. I went part-time and took classes in Communications and Phychology. I also took a Long Distance course as a Paralegal and graduated with an Associate Degree in Paralegal Arts and Sciences. I can now utilize my nursing background as a nurse/paralegal. Workplace I attended Potter Rd. Nursing School in my senior yr. and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in May of 1971. I was first hired as an L.P.N. at Mercy Hospital where I had trained. I was assigned to the Rehabilitation Floor. Later I worked at St.Joseph Intercommunity Hospital in Cheektowaga, N.Y. for 7 years. It was there that I met Ann Maloney,an R.N.,both co-worker and very dear friend. Then my husband got transferred to Steubenville,OH. We lived there for two years and he got transferred to Bellevue,Oh.where I am still living. I have worked here in various L.P.N. postions (Nursing home, doctors office and finally another hospital)until I herniated a disk in my back. I no longer work in nursing, but I have turned to art and my business doing wood burnings.

Love everybody's grey hair. I started going grey in my 20's. I had it frosted for several years, but when I turned 30 something, I stopped frosting it...here is a pic of me at 70 years.
My parents were part of America's greatest generation. Mom was in the Waves in the US Navy. She was on Admiral King's staff in Washington DC. Dad was in the US Army and was stationed in New Caledonia as a company clerk proc
