After high school I stayed connected with the same small group of high friends while I was in college at the U of M and commuted. Got a BA, got married to Pat Beier,a nurse and went to Med School at the U of M with 8 other Robbinsdale classmates. Moved to California for internship, served in the US Public Health Service (in lieu of the draft) stationed in rural Tennessee for 2 years. Met some interesting people, learned a lot and realized I liked living in a small town/rural setting. Found a small town in the California foothills that needed a general practice doctor and moved there where I have lived ever since.Raised 2 children in a great place. Lived close to lakes, rivers, skiing, hiking, and made new friends. Coached soccer for 8 years, sang in the church choir, and was active in church leadership and activities. Discovered the joy of gardening and landscaping, woodshop crafts and the "joys" of remodeling, and got hooked on International travel. My wife, Pat, died of Ovarian Cancer after five years of treatment in 2004. Remarried in 2005 and feel very blessed.
