Daniel's Story

College Well I guess all I can say is that when I left high school, I did not want to go to college and now I can't seem to leave it. You know the old saying used to say "Stay in School" but it never did say you had to leave it. I am currently working on my PhD in electrical engineering. I started school in August 1997 and I received my Bachelor's in electrical engineering in 2001 and my Master's in 2002. I then left to work but came back to school in August 2004 to pursue my PhD. I obtained all my degrees at New Mexico State University and will also be getting my PhD from there. I really enjoy college because ....well for starters the view is very nice, although everyone seems very yourng as I get older. Or maybe I just haven't changed an...Expand for more
d everyone else is getting younger..J/K The thing I really do enjoy is knowledge. I get to do research and find new technologies. Because I have found that technology advancements are usually a product of university research. I am a big time sports fan, and NMSU is now part of the WAC conference which means that we get to play some pretty good sports. I usually attend home games for football, basketball, and volleyball whenever I get the chance. Oh yeah, I also teach a course in that is called Signals Analysis and am usually a mentor for one of our wireless senior design courses. So college life is good. Plus being that I am still single I still get to enjoy going out on the town with the college folks. That is still something cool.
