Life
Curriculum Vitae of DANIEL PATRICK COUTURE, M.Sc.(Eng.), P.Eng.
Couture has been employed principally as a Mechanical and Vehicle Collision Reconstruction Engineer at Arcon Engineering Consultants Ltd, from May 2003 to present, working with a client base from the legal profession and the insurance sector. He was qualified as an expert witness before the Ontario Superior Court, Small Claims Division.
Previously in his industrial career spanning twenty-five years, he developed skills in production and inventory control, and customer technical support in the stainless steel industry; worked as an independent process improvement specialist; collaborated in university research projects; consulted as a metallurgical engineer in the rail transportation sector; supervised a continuous casting aluminum rod mill; and worked on aramid tire technical marketing programs. This broad range of experience provides the base for effective investigation of failures of equipment components.
Couture`s formal education includes a Master of Science in Engineering, Queen's University, 1985, Metallurgical Engineering, which involved thesis research on polymer deformation physics, metal forming and processing, and a Bachelor of Engineering Science (Materials), University of Western Ontario, London, 1980.

Couture has an assortment of professional affiliations, including but not limited to: Professional Engineers of Ontario(PEO), licensed since 1982; Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, charter member; Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ); ASM International; ASTM and SAE.
As a member of ASTM's Forensic Sciences Committee E30.05 working group WK4150, Couture participated in the development of a proposed standard practice for the interrogation of vehicle electronic control units and air bag modules, currently streamed for approval in late 2006.
