Daniel's Story
Life
Well, after graduating from Maury, I attended the Philadelphia College of Arts for a couple of years before getting married. Later, I entered the Marines. Now that was a blast! There were some great times, but I also found out a few things about my marriage that were not good [but we wont go there].
In 1984 my greatest contribution to this world arrived, my daughter Sophia! She is also one of my closest and best friends.
After leaving the military in Â89, I began freelancing as a graphic designer and fashion photographer. For the next few years I held jobs in the hotel industry, television, and sports and of course graphics, but I knew Norfolk had little to offer in the fields I loved so I had to hit the road.
For most of my daughters life, I have been a single parent. I donÂt regret it at all though. My daughter and I are much happier and have more peace in our lives now.
Well, moving along, I have ended up in the Washington Metro area ...Expand for more
and I love it. My daughter and I share a big apartment just outside of DC! Not too far from Virginia at all. She will be starting college soon. She is a great kid with even greater values so I do not worry about anything. (DonÂt worry though. I am not an idiot either.)
I am working for a consulting firm called The Helix Group, Inc. (Not to be confused with The Helix Group [without the Inc.]) I manage the Visual Communications Dept. and I love it! I get to keep my creative side in Hyper Drive doing things that range from music composition, graphic design, 2d and 3d computer animation, sound design and engineering, photography and radio/television commercials! There is more but I got winded so I had to stop there.
Well that is pretty much the abbreviated version minus any purposely-omitted drama.
So, I guess you are no doubt asleep by now, but at least you know what has been going on since the old Maury Commodore days!
See ya on the flipside!
