Daniel's Story
Life
Retired in 94 after 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. Saw alot of the US, Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Europe and Iceland. Spent my last year in Saudi Arabia. The last tour is always the greatest and IT WAS! There is nothing like hearing an Air Raid siren and being no where near a shelter to wake you up! Got re-married in 2001. Also becoming quite a carpenter, sometimes I feel I missed my true calling. Hope to see you all in 2003!
Military
Enlisted in 1973, first assignment was to King Salmon, Alaska.
Promoted to E-4 in 1975 then shipped out to Thule AB, Greenland.
Made E-5 while at Thule, made it the first time!

Moved to Beale AFB, CA. Great assignment. Loved the base housing.
Spent the next 4 years (1980-1984)in Anchorage, Alaska. Great hunting and fishing.
Forget Tyndall AFB, FL. What a pit (even smelled like it).
Off to Alaska again. Then back to the 1954 RADES at Hill. Alot better this time. Let Dan (Doc) Shires talk me into accepting the assignment. LOTS of TDY.
Ended my career in Saudi. Spent 14 months there. The last assignement was indeed the best. Had a real bozo for a C.O. when I got there but Pat (Bull) Sheets replaced him and a what great man to work for!
All in all, 20 years, 5 months and 10 days. WHAT A GREAT LIFE!
