Daniel's Story
I received a BA in Psychology from UWM. A bad knee with a complete knee reconstriction in 1969 kept me out of the Army and to Louisiana State University where I obtained a Masters and Ph.D. I married Kathleen in 1970 and she obtained a Masters in Social Work at LSU. I worked for the CIA for 7 years before joining the Army as a research psycholoigst. First post was HEL- Human Engineering Lab. It was a fantastic place to work. Wrote a book Human Factors Quide to Management Information Systems. Retrained as a clinical psychologist at the University of Delaware. Army Psychologist at Ft. Gordon GA and then became the civilian director of the Army Alcohol and Drug treatment unit. Loved working with military who had to get into recovery to stay in the military. your career and retirement benefits! Rreceived a bonus to retire early in 2004. Have had a private practice since 1985. Stayed in the reserves and had mandatory retirement in 2006 as a LTC. I have been married 39 years to a wonderful women who helped take some of the rough edges off me. We have two adult sons- Jimi-an automotive engineer working with Honda; and Mark a MBA in San Diego who evluates new drugs.
We love to travel and have been to Spain,Italy,Germany, Austria, Russia, England, Israel, Australia,New Zealand, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, St. Martins, Mexico, and Canada. Our best trips were to Israel and Russia. I used a Canon Ftb for years until I finally got a Minolta Dimage with a 10x zoom. I am still into fitness and am near my goal weight for the first time in 30 years.
