Daniel's Story
Life
Briefly,
Life has been on the whole kind to me. I have been married twice and now have a total of four children, three with my second wife. My daughter Debbie from my first marriage now has two lovely children and I am a grandfather (reminds me of Simon and Garfunkle's Old Friends line). Sue and I have a wonderful house in Staatsburg NY, just north of Hyde Park. We have lived there for 13 years. Aimee, our oldest, has graduated college and is now working for my very successful brother Gerry as a mortgage broker. Tim just finished his second year of college and loves to play football. Matt is a junior and has created quite a stir in the field of rowing.
I have always worked as a psychologist since graduating from college. I love the work I do as a private practice psychologist; I also enjoy conducting leadership groups for teens. I have always aimed to be a writer and have been writing poems for the last three years or so. I am lea...Expand for more

College
I entered Marist College in 1962 thanks to Bro. Kenneth Lawrence, my homeroom teacher in junior year. I was hardly prepared for the experience and it took a couple of years to figure things out. I had some good moments the first two years, and remember fondly Roy Young, and then dropped out for a year. I spent that year teaching. I came back in the Fall of '65 and continued to major in Psychology. I worked full time at a psychiatric facility on the overnight shift and went to classes in the day time. I felt more like a student then and actually felt challenged by my classes and some of the instructors. My mind was alive and these two years were much more productive and positive. I graduated in '67 and went for a Master's degree from Temple University and eventually got my Ph.D. from the New School for Social Research in 1980 in Psychology.
