Pastoral ministry experiences have included city and rural community settings in Iowa, Missouri, and Colorado.
Before coming to Crossroads Christian I served my last congregation for an enjoyable eight years. I was married to Sue Flint on May 15, 2010. I have two grown, married children and have six wonderful grandsons.
Besides my pastoral ministries, I have been on the staff at Iowa Christian College & Equipping Center (Des Moines, IA), as well as Ezra Institute For Biblical Studies (West Des Moines, IA). camps dealing with a variety of Spiritual and Biblical topics.
My formal educational background comes from Crossroads College (formally Minnesota Bible College, Rochester, MN), Central Christian College of the Bible (Moberly, MO), Iowa Christian College (Des Moines, IA), and Emmanuel School Of Religion (Johnson City, TN).
My spiritual gifts lay in the area of teaching and encouraging.
I have been very blessed by taking the pastorate with Crossroads Christian Church, because of the love and acceptance these church members express towards me and towards each other. They are a congregation where a person is allowed to have fun and freedom in expressing their faith.
My teaching, preaching, and counseling approach is this: the Bible is the Word of God that still touches the lives of people today in a promising and positive way. I respect Scriptural Truth and proclaim it in a relevant style that puts these profound ideas before individuals in a practical, everyday approach to life.
MY LIFE & MINISTRY PURPOSE PASSAGES:
1. Life Purpose Verses are Mark 12:30-31 and I Corinthians 13:1-13
2. Ministry/Work Purpose Verses are Ezra 7:10 and Ephesians 4:11-16
MY APPROACH TO PREACHING, TEACHING, & COUNSELING:
Message Mission Statement: Tickle Their Toes, Step On Their Toes, And Heal Their Toes
1. Tickle Their Toes = Speak with humor, use word pictures, share helpful life illustrations, and enlighten in a spiritually entertaining way.
2. Step On Their Toes = Share the truth in love, clear convicting communication, care enough to confront, and use Scripture generously in the spirit of Christ.
3. Heal Their Toes = Equip and encourage to engage in a spiritual and scriptural life. Give them tools and tasks to move forward with God.
CORE VALUES:
* INTEGRITY: "Conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ" (Phil. 1:27)
* EXCELLENCE: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord" (Col. 3:23)
* STEWARDSHIP: "The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it" (Psalm 24:1)
* DIGNITY: "God created man in His own image" (Gen. 1:27)".
