Daniel's Story

I dropped out of Somerset High School in March of 1966 as a junior. I enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard at the end of March 1966 and entered basic training at Government Island, Alameda, CA. Upon completion of basic training I was stationed in Honolulu. While in Hawaii I attained my GED, and attended classes at the University of Hawaii. I was the stationed at Johnston Island in the Pacific for one year and continued my college education through correspondence courses. ate through ATP ratings. I flew with a major airline for a few years before starting my own company in the commercial printing industry. The company grew over a period of 30 years to become an international corporation with manufacturing facilities in Dallas, Los Angeles, St Louis, Virginia, England, France, Sydney, Australia and China. We employed over 30,000 and became members on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. I never lost my love for flying and have always owned aircraft. I flew aerobatics in hundreds of air shows, and did stunt flying in a few television shows and motion pictures over a period of 25 years. I retired in 2008 and my wife Sheri and I moved to our vacation home in Wyoming. Not able to withstand the harsh winters we moved back to Copperas Cove, Texas in 2020.
