Daniel's Story
After Colby High, I joined the US Navy and served two tours in Viet Nam on aircraft carrier "Enterprise" as Communications Electrician. Worked for GE Medical Systems 13 years as Computerized Numerical Control technician. Became IBEW steward and negotiated electrician's contract with GE. During GE stint, married Karen Rusch and we hyphenated surname as "Rusch-Fischer". Had one son, Jason, now deceased. Moved to Phoenix, AZ and started collectible stamp business. f the US Interior Department documenting the construction of the New Waddell Dam. After dam completion, worked supporting laboratory facilities for the US Geological Survey in Menlo Park, CA. Later worked at Gilead Sciences, Foster City, CA creating laboratory and facility databases and records systems supporting FDA documentation culminating in the approval of their anti-influenza medication Tamiflu and anti-cytomegaloviral Vistide. Moved to Phoenix, AZ working as architectural designer and facility project manager for architectural and facility management firm, FM Solutions. Retired 2014.
