Daniel's Story

Finishing school, I continued to draw and hand lettering for fun and profit. I dabbled in audio doing concerts and events as a sound technician. Working many years with and for Hoffman Music Co. I then got a real job working at medical service corporation Blue Cross Blue shield, as a mail sorter and print / copy person making booklets for marketing department for clients. I did approximately 1 million copies a month. I heard about an opening and applied for a full time tech for The Met theater doing sound, set up, and maintenance. I left Spokane in 93 to attend school at Full Sail center for the media arts in Orlando Florida. Worked at Disney MGM for a year as a tech doing audio, sound effects, cast member and assistant safety coordinator for the stunt crew for Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Adventure. Also got promoted for my own show of doing the same on Ace Venturas Pet Detective, and tons on convention and event media. Moved up to Charlotte, NC to pursue more audio work with Reflection Studios, The White Room, and freelance work in local area concerts and festivals. Through some networking, I got involved doing television production where I got my start doing camera work for sports. I started out with MediaComm the largest post house in the region. We handled iLife, Steel Roots, Gospel Music Hour, NASCAR, NBA Hornets and WNBA Bobcats basketball, hockey, did I mention NASCAR!!! I moved into studio audio and camera work for Speed Channel, for their in house and location remote ...Expand for more
work. 10 years of freelance and full time work meeting the stars and celeberties. I continued to do graphics work with the Official NASCAR Calendar Company in Mooresville during the freelance breaks and digital photography before moving back home to Spokane. Came back here in 05 and started full time with the Spokane Arena and the convention centers doing much of the same work I had been doing. Had fun but got tired and needed more of a challenge, so I went back to the other love, graphics and printing. I was a production lead over two large format digital print machines for a local print company doing signs and banners and printing on other substrates before moving on to one of our vendors as inside sales and delivery driver. When the main office closed our shop I was able to go back to the arena as well as working with the Union stage hands setting up and tearing down concerts. I had left the business due to extreme essential tremors in my hands. I am currently on disability for that as it is gotten worse affecting my voice as well as my head shakes a bit. It's a little disconcerting. I've had to stop doing graphic work and photography due to that. But looking forward to using natural remedies because the pharmaceutical meds didn't work for me. But hey still got a positive outlook on stuff. Been a Christian for many years, and that's always kept me grounded with the faith and Hope I have. Still do graphic/art and photography. Need something done, write! I'm inexpensive.
