Daniel's Story
My wife (Josie) and I have two boys. Kile was born in Jan 2001 and Brent was born in Aug 2002. I currently work in Austin for one of the world's largest aerospace and defense companies. I worked in San Antonio for about 20 years after graduating college and we still have our house there.
College roomates: Good gosh, you just had to remind me about my college roomates? LOL Two of them were absolutely awful! I'd rather not post the details. Some people mind find it offensive. :o)
The wildest thing that I ever did in high school was...my friend and I got mad at the Physics teacher, Mr. Buckley so one day during lunch we drove to his house and drove through his front yard and knocked down his mail box with my car. I asked Mr. Buckley how he was doing the next day and he told me the story about how someone knocked down his mail box and put tire tracks in his lawn. He said the police were looking for the culprit. The next day there were police cars in the parking lot at AHHS. I didn't drive to school that day or for a week later! If you are still out there, Mr. Buckley, I was the culprit, and I'm sorry! I'm good now. I actually owe a lot to Mr. Buckley. He got me interested in circuit theory during our physics class and I'm an electrical engineer now. Oh, and my friends and I also stole a Stop sign in AH and knocked down a big mail drop box on the street. I was a destructive little kid!
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have my laptop, my wireless 4G modem, and my stock quotes to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Robert Shoaf, because he was a good friend in high school and I lost track of him when I was in college. We got together a few times when I was at A&M, but then he move...Expand for more
d to Chicago to become a chef. I never dreamed that Robert would do that for a living! I always cooked for him when he came to visit. ha-ha
I'm not as interested in sports as when I was younger, and I can't stand reality TV. I love dogs, and we always have two. I take it very hard when one dies and having the other helps ease the pain.
My kids taught me that school was much easier in the 1970s! I can't believe what they teach 3rd and 4th graders today.
My best friend would tell you I'm wild and crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet and shy.
I was awarded the US Air Force Materiel Command Honorable Dudley C. Sharp Award for 1996. The award recognizes an individual who substantially improved the operational effectiveness of the USAF. I received the award for my work in standardizing automatic test equipment across the Department of Defense, and a US Major General presented the award to me.
If I could do one thing over again, I would take the money that I made in the stock market in 2000 and put it in CDs and never trade another stock in my life.
I think the thing that would surprise most people about me at a high school reunion is that I'm not a nerd anymore.
I always wanted to be an electrical engineer when I was in high school. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right.
How do you blow off steam? Describe your favorite way to relax. Have sex with my wife. LOL Seriously, I enjoy cooking, and catering a party for family and friends is my way of meditating.
My oldest friend is Kelly Webb. We met in Algebra in the 9th grade and are still friends today. Kelly moved to the DC area but we still talk and exchange emails occassionally, and see each other once in a blue moon.
