Danielle's Story
I joined the Army National Guard in April of 2002 and went to basic training in August of that year at Fort Jackson, SC. I then went on to my AIT school at Fort Eustis, VA for my selected MOS of helicopter electrician. During my training I met my husband Daniel who is a blackhawk crew chief. Daniel and I married May 15, 2004 after he returned to the states from a tour in South Korea- yes, I did visit him there; it was a wonderful trip and I would suggest visiting there to anyone (just be sure to stay away from the squatters). After we married we moved to Clarksville, TN as my husband was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. We had our first son Michael in 2005 and shortly thereafter I was deployed...Expand for more
to Gulfport, MS with my Guard unit for relief aid from hurricane Katrina. In December of 2006 we moved to Germany, our current duty station. We had our second son, John Ryan, in 2007. I am presently trying to finish my bachelors degree so that I can go to OCS when we return stateside- contrary to popular belief it isn't always easy to go to school while pursuing a career in the military, working a full time job, and taking care of your children. My family and I will be returning to the states sometime between September of 2009 and January of 2010. We do not as yet know for sure what our next duty station will be, but it is looking more and more likely that we will be heading to Texas next.
