Danny Myers:  

DANNY R. MYERS Mr. Danny R. Myers is Director, Information Protection, 88 Air Base Wing, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The lnformation Protection directorate is responsible for providing coordinated mission focused protection converging protection disciplines to provide full spectrum threat mitigation and synergistic security controls for Wright-Patterson, tenants and geographically separated units. He was assigned to this position in January 2009. Mr. Myers was commissioned in 1974 through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at The Ohio State University. His 28 year active duty career spanned the Vietnam Conflict, Cold War, Gulf War and the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT). His assignments include commanding three diverse Security Forces Squadrons, Chief of Security Police, NATO Emergency Actions Officer, Major Command IG Inspector, Major Command Headquarters Staff Officer, Program Security Manager for Special Access Programs, Senior Antiterrorism Assessment Team Chief for US Central Command's Joint Security Directorate (FWD) in Southwest Asia and Systems Program Office Director, Acquisition Security. He has served in the Strategic Air Command, Tactical Air Command, United States Air Forces Europe, Air Force Materiel Command, Air Combat Command, and both CENTAF and CENTCOM (FWD). His assignments include eleven years overseas with two tours in wartime Southwest Asia serving in high threat environments supporting Operations DESERT STORM, SOUTHERN WATCH, and ENDURING FREEDOM. He was also directly responsible for Rapid Targeting System ISR security in support of Operation ALLIED FORCE and led security operations for the first ever overseas deployment of the Global Hawk Unmanned Aerial System in support of GWOT. Additionally, he spent much of his active duty career in direct support of USAF's Nuclear enterprise in both Strategic and Tactical commands in CONUS and OCONUS. Lieutenant Colonel Myers retired from the Air Force in November, 2002. Upon retirement from active duty, Mr. Myers accepted a Senior Security Manager position with HJ Ford Inc. supporting the 303 AESW at Wright-Paterson AFB. In 2003, Mr. Myers was selected for a Department of the Air Force Civilian Security Manager position within the 303 AESW where he continued to support ISR and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) security operations in both CONUS and OCONUS. In May 2006 he was promoted and assigned as Chief, Plans and Programs, 88th Security Forces Squadron, where he served as the installations Information Security Program Manager (ISPM) and ASC's Functional Support Office (FSO) for Program/Technology Protection.
