Darby's Story
I work with the faculty at ASU. 27 years now. A mere extension of my high school experience at Wego in that I liked my teachers there with the exception of one or two, and I admire the professors here. I like to support them in their work and in managing the University-wide Senate Office--it is like a huge student counsel organization--only the students are grown up overachievers. Type A's in forward gear. The brain trust. Tell me about yourself, I would find that much more interesting and I would like to make new our acquaintance. By the way the "then" picture of me was taken in 1960 for the year book. I was a sophomore at the time. I have kept the first one I posted in my photo album from the day I turned 50.
:-) Cheers, Darby
I always wanted to be a Artist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were not thinking in the right direction because I became a mom and then got my degrees in 1976-1982 in my thirties..
Relaxation to me is private time to do what you want, whatever makes you happy. I bake cookies or whatever comes up.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a good salary, autonomy, and atmosphere to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
My three sons. Mike, Roy, and Jason and my close friends are my heros including some from WeGo
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see most again is Freida Krause, because She was a great inspiration to me..
Obsessed with "One Tree Hill" believe it or not.
If I could improve my home,...Expand for more
I'd remodel or build and add on a lot of BRs. My dream home would be a place where my friends and family are welcome. .
Too much to tell. All sons.
If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to the homeless, then spend the rest on travel, family and clothes.
Campus life as a mom. Pretty busy and I worked 20 hours a week on top of that.
My current age is 64. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be very sophisticated. I was so completely off base. We are all kids still. .
I am intending to keep on trucking until retirement.
My best friend would tell you I'm kind and loving, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a bit aloof.
No. Yes. I work so, that says a lot about the wardrobe and style. I live in AZ so I wear a lot of shorts and sandals and tees.
In 10 years, I hope to be still alive. I'm going to get there by the power of the Lord. His will, not mine..
My first job was at a pickle factory in WeGo, where I got paid not enough to pack pickles in hot brine..
How funny life can be? What I remember most about it is I got let go for talking to Andrea Tinnes and Linda Nelson who also worked there. HA we all gabbed too much in those days. What did we know...
Miss Sitz, 3rd grade, Lincoln Elementary, such a task master but she really impressed me right down to her white high collars with a rose on dark dresses. She impressed me first in my educational route. Many others after that at WeGo.
Write me and let me know your mind today. Thanks and God Bless.
